Drainage/Flood Control

WRE engineers deal with drainage and flood control issues at a watershed level, as well as with urban drainage and stormwater conveyance. We help utilities plan, size, and operate drainage systems, develop strategies to prevent flooding, and design canals, pipes, pump stations, and flood protection measures.
Recent project experience includes:

  • Upgrade of stormwater pump stations for urban municipalities
  • Development of low impact design (LID) measures for an urban watershed
  • Design of vegetated swales for street drainage
  • Computer simulations of flood events
