PHYSICAL MODELING

Most computer models available to water engineers rely in one- and two-dimensional formulations. This can limit the predictive value of some models, particularly where the three-dimensional behavior of water plays an important role. WRE offers physical modeling services to provide reliable answers to difficult design questions.

Our engineers design, supervise construction, and perform testing on a variety of models. They have used physical models successfully in the design of pump stations, low-head hydropower plant headrace and tailrace channels, spillways, dam outlets, energy dissipation structures, river training structures, diversion structures, outfalls, and vertical shafts.
